Privacy Policy
The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is committed to protecting the privacy of people whose personal information is collected and held by Society.
When you use the ASBC’s Memory Bank to share your stories, memories and ideas, your personal information is being collected and if you give your consent, shared with others.
We ask you to note that we have set up the Memory Bank site to respect the especially private information that will be submitted by our visitors. Visitors who choose to have your memory box “open to all” have chosen to share personal information in the public domain and it is your choice how much personal information you share. The account name you choose (not your email address) is displayed to all visitors to the Memory Bank when you upload content or send messages through Memory Bank. Other users can contact you through messages and comments. Any personal information, images, audio, or video content that you submit to the public area of Memory Bank may be redistributed by other visitors through the Internet and other media channels and may be viewed by the general public.
Visitors who choose to have your memory box “open to some”; “partially private” and “open to nobody” have requested a certain amount of anonymity, which the ASBC is committed to protect. In all cases, you may decline to submit personally identifiable information. You may update or change your personal profile information and email preferences at any time by visiting your account profile page.
To further protect your privacy, we take reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique password) to verify your identity before granting you profile access or making corrections. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information at all times.
We do not share your personally identifiable information (such as name or email address) with other, third party companies for their commercial or marketing use.
This personal information you share in your memory box, whether it is shared publicly or privately, will not be distributed in any way or used for anything except for keeping you informed of Memory Bank updates. If at any time you wish to be removed from any of these contacts, please let us know by calling (604)681-6530, toll-free 1-800-667-3742 or email at info@alzhemerbc.org.
All other terms and conditions as stated in the Society’s overall privacy statement are in effect.
