About Us
Memory Bank is a service provided by the Alzheimer Society of B.C.
The Alzheimer Society of B.C. ensures that people whose lives have been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia can connect to a community of information, services and support. We also support research to search for the causes and the cure.
Established in 1981, the Alzheimer Society of B.C. is a volunteer based non-profit organization with a Provincial Office in Vancouver and Resource Centres located throughout the province.
We provide support services and education programs locally and provincially, and are connected nationally to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. These three levels work together to form a nationwide network of services to help Canadians who are affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
Memory Bank is an interactive website—a space where all people, especially those impacted by dementia can share their inspiring stories, memories, and ideas. The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is committed to ensuring that the loss of memory associated with Alzheimer’s disease does not mean the permanent loss of personal stories that help weave the fabric of our society—stories of love, family, struggle, survival and triumph.
Memory Bank represents the commitment of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. to honour the life-affirming stories of people living with dementia.
